Adult Categories
The Adult Categories module lets you restrict access to specific categories by displaying an age verification splash page before visitors can view listings. All settings are found under Admin → Listings → Settings → Adult Categories.
Settings
- Enable Adult Categories — when checked, the adult categories module is active. Categories flagged as adult will require age confirmation before access.
- Splash Page Custom Content — when checked, a custom splash page is displayed before entering an adult category.
- Custom Content — use the rich text editor to create the age verification or disclaimer content shown on the splash page.
Splash Page
When a visitor clicks on an adult category for the first time in their session, they are shown the splash page with the custom content you defined above. The visitor must confirm they are of legal age before proceeding. Once confirmed, they can browse all adult categories for the remainder of their session without being prompted again.
Visitor Experience
When a visitor clicks on an adult category, they are shown a warning splash page with the custom content defined above. They must click Enter to proceed or Cancel to go back.
Once confirmed, the visitor can browse the adult category and its listings normally for the remainder of their session.
Flagging Categories
To mark a category as adult, go to Admin → Tables → Categories → Standard Categories and check the Adult Category checkbox for the relevant categories.
Categories flagged as adult appear in the front-end categories list like any other category, but visitors are required to pass the splash page before viewing their contents.
