Admins select the confirmation method for new accounts. No Confirmation Required speeds up the registration process by removing the user validation step. Otherwise, Email Address Verification and Admin Approval, add important security layers by requiring email address validation.
Select, from the Sign-up Confirmation (Admin Control Panel -> Settings -> User Settings -> Sign-up Confirmation) menu, the preferred verification method for confirming user registration.
The site will automatically activate accounts without requiring user validation.
After registering, new users will receive an email with an activation link. Their accounts become active only after clicking the verification link.
If checked, admins will have to manually activate new accounts from the Users management page, (Admin Control Panel -> Users -> Site Users) then follow the steps described in the Email Address Verification.
